Heather is an assistant professor at Indiana University, heading the M.F.A. Costume Technology program. She has been working at IU since 2013. Her research interests include Experimentation with digital technologies for costumes and examining the Costumes in the Elizabeth Sage collection for advanced construction techniques. She uses Clo3D to drape and pattern costumes which are made at the costume shop, Pintler Costumes and Technologies in NYC. Most recently she worked with them on some ensemble costumes for the Les Mis National Tour, Radio City Christmas Spectacular and an industrial piece for TWA. She recently worked at American Players Theatre on Hamlet. She also drapes on several productions a year at IU and has most recently draped Fuc*ing A

Heather is actively involved in USITT as a volunteer coordinator for the costume commission. She does judging and editing for poster sessions and is an occasional award adjudicator.

Earlier in her career, she worked making Broadway costumes at Barbara Matera Ltd in NYC. She worked on such shows as The Lion King, Beauty and the Beast, Thoroughly Modern Millie and more.
